MEASURING FOR CURTAINS
Home Measuring Service
Janet Riley Fabrics offers a personal measuring and fitting service to our customers, ensuring your curtains fit perfectly.
For a small charge, which will be deducted off your order, we will come to your home and take all the measurements required to ensure a perfect fit. We will also come back and hang them for you, if required.
Alternatively, you can provide us with your own measurements. Take a look at our How to Measure Guide below, to see exactly what we require.
Fill in the form below if you would like to arrange for us to come out and measure your windows
HOW TO MEASURE
Step 1 - Fit Curtain Poles or Tracks
Fit the poles or track first, before you measure for curtains.
When fitting a Pole or Track, ideally allow between 15cm and 30cm either side of the window and 10cm to 15cm above the window.
Step 2 - Measuring the Width
On Curtain Tracks measure the whole length of the track:
If your Track has a central overlap, include the overlap in your end to end measurement:
On Curtain Poles measure between the ends and do not include the decorative ends (finials):
Step 3 - Measuring the Length or Drop
Ideally you should measure the length, from the track or pole to one of the following positions:
the window sill
15-20cm below the window sill
Measure from the top of the track to where you want the curtain to finish.
Measure from the bottom of the ring on the pole to where you want the curtain to finish
Eyelet Curtains on Poles
For eyelet curtains, measure from the top of the pole to where you want the curtains to finish, then add 2cm.
